How to add symbols and false links in Everquest Hotbuttons (macros)

First I am going to tell you how to add symbols to your macros and hotbuttons. To achieve that you will have to have one of the following:

• Notepad [In Windows XP Only]
• A Text editor that can save in UTF-8 [For all other windows Version]

While in the game, create the button you want to add symbol as you
would normally, then exit the game.

Adding the symbols

First in the editor locate your everquest character_server.ini file
(Generally in C:/program files/Everquest/)



Then locate in the file the button / line of the macro you created



Using the Character Map (inside system tools) Choose the symbol you want



and cut and paste them in the file



After you added the symbols, simply save the file and overwrite

VERY IMPORTANT : Make sure you save the file in UTF-8 or your Symbol won't show



If you done everything properly here is the result you should see in Game :



If you want to further spice things up...

you can make your %t (or any other variables) appear as a Link like this



Simply Locate the Macro you wanna change



And replace the %t (or the other variable) with

0000000000000-00000-00000-00000-00000A018A87A %t 

(you may want to highlight and cut and paste the above directly in your file, HINT !
Make sure you include both  symbols. Like this :



then simply save the file again and overwrite

VERY IMPORTANT : Again Make sure you save the file in UTF-8 or your Symbols and false links won't work
